Pre-production consultation The first phase
of any translation project is education. We learn about our
clients, their corporate culture and the goal of the
communications piece. We also explain how the original document
must be shaped for a clear, concise translation product. We
eliminate any ambiguity in the text, identify design challenges
and assist the client in making decisions that are culturally
appropriate and cost-effective. |

|
Team selection Once we've learned about
your business and goals, we select a project manager who will
choose from a pool of professional translators with the
appropriate linguistic skills. The project manager then narrows
the choice by matching one or more of these native-speaking
translators to your business or industry, based on their past
experience or technical expertise. The project manager -- your
contact throughout the production process -- will also identify
members of our desktop publishing team who have experience in the
development of materials for your target language or culture. |

|
Translation memory, glossary building and information
management Whether it's your corporate mission
statement or instructions for ordering and installing replacement
parts, there are components to your corporate communications
materials that are repeated within a single piece or in subsequent
communications. The most cost-effective way to incorporate these
information modules repeatedly is to translate them once and store
them in your database at Techno-Graphics. Via our use of
computer-aided translation tools and Integrated Translation
Systems, these information modules are easily accessible and
transferable between documents, platforms or design formats. |

|
Linguistic review and editing Translation is
the communication of ideas. An effective translation communicates
those ideas from the original text with every level of
understanding and detail intact. To assure effective translations,
the work of the primary translator is scrutinized by a linguist,
skilled in both the original and target language. Each nuance of
the ideas in the translated piece is evaluated and edited to
assure the final product meets all the client's information and
impact goals. |

|
Graphic artwork production and desktop publishing With
each language and culture, there is an endemic approach to art,
organization and imagery. Our desktop publishers work with the
translator and linguist to assure that your information product
retains its original design impact, while respecting or utilizing
specific aspects of the target culture to enhance communication
effectiveness. |

|
Mechanical proofreading and final review Using
our mechanical proofreading capabilities, we check and double
check information delivery in the desktop published document. We
also ensure consistency in the use of terms, accuracy in
measurement conversion and readability in organization with a
final linguistic review/editing effort, conducted by our
translation staff. |
